At the Los Angeles premiere of “John Wick: Chapter 4,” Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne were among the celebrities who paid tribute to Lance Reddick, her co-star who passed away suddenly last week.

“We experienced a terribly, truly shocking loss of our sibling. We’re all still reeling, I believe. The very frightened Fishburne paused before saying, “Life is rough sometimes.

Many of the film’s crew members wore blue ribbons as a mark of respect for Reddick, a prolific character actor who had significant roles in The Wire, Oz, and the John Wick movie series.

Reeves stated, “Just being in his presence and having the opportunity to work with him is something I’ll appreciate for the rest of my life. “He was so dedicated to his career and his craft. He was gracious. He had a dignity and a presence.”

Reddick, 60, died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Friday, his publicist Mia Hansen said. No further information was given. The actor, whose roles made him a popular and well-known star of television and films, has received a deluge of tributes. He portrayed Charon, the adaptable concierge at the Continental Hotel who develops feelings for Wick, the assassin depicted by Keanu Reeves. The most recent episode premieres this Friday.

“He is the film’s redeeming quality. Because his character adored John Wick, he served as the movie’s emotional center in many ways, according to Fisburne.

It’s always difficult to lose someone you care about deeply, but you are also eternally appreciative of the time you spent with. Since the beginning of the John Wick series, we’ve had the good fortune to work with Lance. It’s been over ten years, after all,” remarked filmmaker Chad StahelskiShamier Moore, a newcomer to the “Wick” franchise, recalled Reddick taking the time to say a kind word on set.

“I grew up with Lance Reddick. It’s a bittersweet moment because he was definitely one of my heroes growing up as an actor, as a black actor,” Moore said. And while we didn’t spend any screen time together in this film, we did share some off-camera time, and he was the salt of the earth when he first met me.

“He said, ‘Shamier, you are amazing. I love your work man’ and it melted me like a puddle.
