Janet Jackson is headed out on tour this year and Lifetime cameras will be there to record it all. The second documentary, Janet Jackson: Family First, which will capture the development and performances of her Together Again tour, was approved by the celebrity, according to a network announcement.

Over the course of three episodes, Jackson’s debut Lifetime documentary, simply titled Janet Jackson, attracted 21 million people. Jackson, the youngest member of the well-known Jackson musical family, discussed controversy and victories during her five-decade career in that documentary.

She clarified reports that she and her first husband James DeBarge were expecting a child and shared additional information about her connection with her late brother Michael Jackson, the renowned music artist who passed away in 2009.

On April 14, the 56-year-old begins her tour in Hollywood, Florida. Her opening act is the rapper and actor Ludacris. Jackson is commemorating her 50 years in the entertainment business as well as the 25th and 30th anniversaries of her multiplatinum albums The Velvet Rope and Janet, respectively.”I was touched by the love and support from the wonderful fans who enjoyed the documentary last year,” Jackson said via a Lifetime press release. “I am excited to continue to share my story, and welcome fans into my life and the ‘Together Again’ tour. Thank you for your never-ending support, and I hope you enjoy the next chapter.”

The documentary will again be executive produced by Janet’s brother Randy, the second oldest child in the Jackson family who joined The Jacksons alongside his brothers when Jermaine left the group.

“In this next chapter in the documentary, Janet and I are thrilled to welcome viewers on the road with us as we embark on the ‘Together Again’ tour, celebrating the milestone of 50 years of Janet’s career with fans across the country. We look forward to the continued partnership with Lifetime and A&E, and to sharing our family with viewers.”
