People usually share negative experiences with the police. But the truth is there are a lot of positive events with a police officers with no credit given to those people at all. I strongly believe this should change.
For a police officer from Minnesota, this day was like any other. Matt responded to a recent call to check on the welfare of an elderly woman.
Luckily, everything was fine with the woman. Shortly after he left, the woman heard noises coming from her yard and she immediately went to the window. What she saw left her speechless: the police officer was mowing her lawn!
The elderly woman asked the officer why he is doing that and he responded: “I noticed that your yard was so overgrown. So, I decided to mow it for you. You are old and you can’t do it, but it doesn’t change the fact that you deserve nice lawn in front of your house.”
“I cannot describe how proud stuff like this makes us,” said the Orono police staffer who wrote the post.
Kindness and compassion need to be taught from a young age. Love wins again.
A week after when the police came to check on the woman again, all the neighbors were cheering and applauding him.
